FontLark is a focused library for discovering, previewing, and downloading open-license fonts with the practical details needed to use them responsibly.

Find a font that fits

Browse a growing catalog of serif, sans serif, display, handwriting, script, monospace, and multilingual families. Search and filters help narrow the library by category, writing system, license, and family type, while curated collections bring together fonts for common styles and projects.

Every font page includes a live preview, available styles and variable axes, character coverage, inferred language support, source information, package size, checksum, and a self-hosting CSS example where available.

How the catalog is reviewed

FontLark accepts families only when the supplied license and authoritative source provide clear redistribution rights. The current catalog is limited to the SIL Open Font License 1.1, Apache License 2.0, and Ubuntu Font License 1.0. Missing, conflicting, personal-use-only, or unclear terms are not treated as permission to host a download.

Catalog records preserve the upstream source, version or revision, copyright information, license evidence, and file hashes. Download packages retain the original font files and included license material rather than silently renaming or modifying the downloadable binaries.

Licenses and responsible use

The license section on each family page is a practical record, not legal advice or a replacement for the complete license. Requirements can differ for redistribution, modification, embedding, attribution, and Reserved Font Names. Review the license included in the download before using a font in a client project, logo, product, application, or website.

Technical and language information

Automated inspection helps identify styles, weights, variable axes, OpenType features, glyphs, Unicode scripts, and likely language coverage. These results make comparison easier, but character coverage does not guarantee correct shaping, complete localization, or suitability for every language. Always test the font with your own text and production software.

Downloads, privacy, and corrections

Download files are delivered through protected, short-lived requests to reduce casual hotlinking. FontLark records aggregate download activity and uses temporary privacy-conscious rate limiting; the catalog does not retain raw IP addresses as download statistics.

If you are a designer, foundry, or rights holder and notice incorrect attribution, licensing information, a broken source, or material that should be withdrawn, please contact us. Credible concerns are reviewed promptly, and affected downloads can be disabled while a record is checked. Copyright and removal requests can follow our Copyright & Takedown Policy.
